Locums work as independent contractors and typically serve two to three communities per month. The average schedule includes approximately 21 working days per month with about 10 days off, and physicians may bank days to allow for extended time away from practice. A full-time one-year contract requires a minimum of 200 working days, including travel days.
Benefits include:
- Minimum daily rate of $1,190.
- $11,000 signing bonus for a one-year contract ($13,500 for consecutive years).
